Wolves face battle to keep Adama Traoré amid Liverpool interest

June 7, 2020

After deciding against signing Timo Werner, Liverpool have reportedly now set their sights on Wolves winger Adama Traoré.

The Daily Star claims that the Reds have made official enquiries about bringing the 24-year-old to Anfield.

Traoré, who moved from Barcelona to Aston Villa in 2015, has flourished under the guidance of Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo.

However, his excellent form this season is proving a double-edged sword as bigger clubs are now looking to prize the former Spain U21 international away from Molineux.

The wide man was superb in Wolves’ 2-1 home defeat to the Merseysiders back in January, and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has previously labelled the speed merchant as “unplayable”.

However, Wolves are in no rush to part with the player who has three years left on his deal with the Midlanders.

If they were to listen to offers, they would almost certainly be looking for a significant profit on the £18m they paid Middlesbrough for his services in August 2018.
