On Wednesday, Next Media Services CEO, Kin Kariisa relieved 30 staff members of their duties in a process to realign the company’s digital realignment process.

In a communication, Kariisa said, “We simply cannot continue to approach our work the same as we currently do, especially with our winning DNA”.

The 30 members relieved of their duties worked at NBS TV, Sanyuka TV and Next Radio. Since the sacking, our snoops have been trying to get the full list in vain.

However, we managed to get some of the names that were deemed unfit to take Next media forward.

Among the laid-off staff are Noah Kyeyune, Edris Kiggundu, Turyagumanawe, John Kibalizi, Fatia Nassali, Aminah Nabukenya, Micheal Kigozi, Jordan Mubangizi, Esther Namutamba, and Karitas Karisimbi, Bismac Moses Amumpaire, Hilda Bahati, Agatha ‘Loswash’ Atiti among many more others.

After sacking 30 employees, some that remained gained promotions.

Since Kin Kariisa took over NBS Television from its founder, Nathan Igeme Nabeeta in 2008, his mission has been simple – turning Next Media Services into the biggest media house in Uganda.

His hunger for success saw him raid other rival stations of their employees which created a lot of redundancy at high salaries at Next Media park.

To reduce the reduce expenditure and redundancy, he had to wield the axe.

It should be noted that in September, Kin Kariisa raided Ann Taylor from Bukedde TV, Precious Remmie from Spark TV, DJ Muteesa Pro from Buddu FM among others.

DJ Ssuna Ben held talks with Nin Kariisa but Bukedde talked him out of the move by increasing his pay.
