Solskjaer warns Martial after Sheffield Utd shock at Man Utd

January 28, 2021

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Anthony Martial will have to accept criticism for last night’s performance against Sheffield United,.

The France international struggled in the shock 2-1 defeat for the Premier League leaders at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer insists Martial won’t be alone in being criticised – and includes himself in the reaction expected – but it’s something he must accept.

The manager also is confident his players will bounce back – and will have to given they have Arsenal in London this weekend.

“There’s no time to feel sorry for yourself and there’s another game on Saturday. Other teams have lost games and had to bounce back. We have done it before, this group of players have done it so many times and I expect our performance to be much, much better on Saturday.

“We’ve got Arsenal, Southampton and Everton – three massive games – so we can’t feel sorry for ourselves for too long. When I see them in the morning, I expect them to get the mood back up and the focus on Saturday.”
