On January 13th, Ssewanyana Malcolm James aka Sewa Sewa quit Eddy Kenzo’s Big Talent Entertainment following after 11 years working with ‘Sitya Loss’ hitmaker.

Through social media, Sewa who was acting as Kenzo’s vice, announced his departure from Big Talent and thanked everyone for supporting him for the past 11 years.

He disclosed he will be starting a new record label ‘Gomba Boy Music Empire’ but never gave an explanation as to why he decided to ditch Kenzo at the beginning of the new year.

In a telephone interview, with Kampala Sun, Sewa said Big Talent did not give him a chance to shine, saying it doesn’t believe in pushing other members of the label.

I have worked with Big Talent for 11 years now, but I have not got what I expected in return. They only promote the lead artiste. Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz pushes Rayvanny, Mbosso and Zuchu. That’s how a label should be. But here, the owner of the label wants to be promoted alone

Sewa scoffed at Big talent for unprofessionalism disclosing that he wasn’t being paid for all the good work he was doing for the record label.

I was the vice-president, but I was handling the music bit. And by the way, there is no single day Big Talent gave me about shs3m for music or for promotion. All they do is facilitate my work. It is true that Kenzo used to give me some little money for medication and wellbeing, but that was as a friend and not employer

Sewa has released a song ‘Katonda Gweyawa‘ which netizens claim its message is aiming at stinging Big Talent Entertainment and its administration.
