Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad of Kawempe North has revealed that he doesn’t regret joining politics at anytime.
He said serving his people of Kawempe North is a dream and a priority to him.
Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad before joining politics he was a blogger and also used to fight for the needs of the ordinary people. He used to go on some strikes especially outside Parliament to air out his frustrations.
Fortunately, he contested under National Unity Platform (NUP) and he won hence being the member of Parliament.
The unlucky part of it is that few months into Parliament he was arrested and jailed for nearly two years. He was accused of plotting the killing of Masaka people in 2021.
Hon Ssegirinya was arrested alongside Makindye East Member of Parliament Hon Allan Ssewanyana.
According to Hon Ssegirinya, he faced so much hard time while in jail. He got sick, he missed his people and he was also mistreated.
But still that doesn’t make him regret why he joined politics. He is so happy to find himself serving the people of Kawempe North and if he hadn’t been arrested, Kawempe would be a city on its own.
“I don’t regret joining politics. No matter how difficult jail life was, serving my people is the priority. The most discomforting situation was the bedbugs in prison and the slaps I received. Honestly speaking, I got slaps in the morning, afternoon and evening,”–Hon. Ssegirinya said
