Ki Uganda kinyuma! Long-distance runner, Moses Ndiema Kipsiro is still demanding for his car president Museveni gifted him in 2014.

When Kipsiro won gold medal for Uganda in the 10,000-metre race in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, president Museveni rewarded him a Toyota Pajero for his hard work.

7-years down the road, the athlete has never seen the car yet it was picked from the bond by some government officials.

According to The Observer, Kipsiro said he has never received his gift from the president. He disclosed the car was picked from Victoria Motors by individuals from State House. He has not had any breakthrough in tracing the individuals who picked the car.

Kipsiro who has been battling with injuries that have kept him off the track over the years, got frustrated and decided to give up on the car.

However, Former Minister of Sports, Charles Bakkabulindi who was in charge at the time is determined to help Kipsiro trace his gift.

This is a matter I am going to follow up on, and get to the bottom of. Unless there was a misunderstanding, Kipsiro, who did this country proud, cannot be denied his presidential reward

Bakabulindi told the Obsever.

While Victoria Motors officials declined to speak on record, Kipsiro explained: “Back in 2014, when I had returned to Dublin for treatment on my knee injury, I received a call from Victoria Motors informing me that the car promised to me from State House had been released”.

Although Kipsiro refused to mention names, he disclosed that he called some officials based at Okello House where his passport details were taken to process receipt of the car.

“None of those people [at Okello House] answered my phone calls,” Kipsiro told The Observer.

Over the years, many sportsmen have been complaining of receiving empty promises from president Museveni while others; Denis Onyango, Joshua Cheptegei, Dorcus Inzikuru, Peruth Chemutai, Jacob Kiplimo and Stephen Kiprotich have received theirs without hustle.
