Bruno Fernandes celebrates with Pogba

Bruno Fernandes will commit to signing a new contract with Manchester United – if Paul Pogba does the same.

The Portuguese loves playing for United and wants to win big trophies with the club.

United approached the 26-year-old in early March over a new five-year contract worth £200,000 a week.

But Fernandes said at the time that he wanted to wait and see what the club’s ambitions were in the transfer market his summer, with the likes of Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho linked with the club.

Now the talented playmaker wants assurances over Pogba’s future as well, according to The Sun.

Pogba’s current deal is up in June of next year after United triggered a one-year extension back in October.

But the club either want him on new terms or will look to sell him this summer, rather than the 28-year-old World Cup winner becoming a free agent.

Fernandes, 26, is watching the situation carefully with the club also aiming to extend his current deal after his incredible impact at Old Trafford since signing in a £55million deal from Sporting Lisbon in January of last year.

The relationship between Pogba and Fernandes has flourished in recent weeks.

The latter stated this week that Pogba made him a better player and that the pair could do ‘much better together’.

It remains to be seen whether France star Pogba feels the same.

The World Cup winner is out of contract in 2022, but there have been varying reports about what he wants to do with his future.

Juventus and Real Madrid have long been linked with the 28-year-old.
