Wydad Casablanca Appoint Former Uganda Cranes Coach, Sébastien Desabre

January 19, 2020

Former Pyramids coach Sébastien Desabre has been announced by Moroccan side, Wydad Casabanca as their new manager.

The Frenchman has been announced to lead the Moroccan side and will take over from Serbian-Portuguese manager Zoran Manojlović who has been at the club for the past six months.

The Florist, his nickname since his playing career, returns to coach the Moroccan side for a second spell after he managed them from 2016 to 2017 in 12 games where he managed to win five games, draw six and lose just once.

Sébastien Desabre has been associated with no team since parting ways with Pyramids in December of 2019 after an unfortunate series of results in the Egyptian Premier League.

The Casablanca based club will be looking to benefit from Desabre’s hefty African experience where he managed the likes of ASEC Mimosas, Coton Sport, Espérance de Tunis, Recreativo do Libolo, JS Saoura, Ismaily and the Ugandan national team.

Wydad Casablanca sit second in Mroccan Botola – just one point behind RS Berkane after 12 rounds. They also have significant chances of qualifying to the CAF Champions League quarter finals sitting second in group C with six points needing at least three points from their last two games in group stage.
