Vampino on how he got his famous name

Singer Elvis Kirya also known as Vampino has revealed how he got the Vampino famous name while still at school.

Vampino is one of the Ugandan artistes that rose to fame 15 years ago. He is among the generation of Jose Chameleon.

But for these past 6 years, Vampino hasn’t been so active musically. However he has kept his voice so loud when it comes to the music industry.

While in an interview with NTV mwasuze mutya, Vampino talked about his past and how he got the name.

Talented Vampino said the names was from highschool. He talked about how he was suspended but he refused to go back home not to break his mother’s heart.

Vampino said he was staying in the ceiling and that’s how students started referring to his as Vampire abc he turned it to Vampino.

“I was suspended from school for 3 weeks, but I couldn’t bear the thought of breaking my mother’s heart by returning home. Instead, I found refuge in the ceiling of the dormitory, where I would hide during the day. The other children began calling me “vampire.” It was during this time that the name “Vampino” came into existence,”. -Elvis Kirya aka Vampino

It should be noted that Vampino refers to himself as one of the best musicians has had just because he travels so much.
