Former Vipers SC midfielder Brian Nkuubi has joined three-time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC on a three-year deal.
Nkuubi released by Vipers in August after five years at the club as he found himself on the fringes of the first team.
At Vipers, he helped the club win two league titles in 2018 and 2020 as well as the 2016 Uganda Cup.
Nkuubi’s addition is a major coup for URA who are chasing their first top flight title since 2012.
Nkuubi rose to the Uganda Premier League scene with the now defunct Kira Young. He joined Vipers SC in 2015.
Vipers opted not to renew his contract after featuring for the Venoms for four seasons.
At URA, Nkuubi joins a list of other new recruits in Davis Ssali (Tooro United), Arafat Galiwango (Police FC), Jackson Nunda (KCCA) and former Maroons goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo.
Nkuubi will boast URA’s central midfielder department which has skipper Shafiq Kagimu, Said Kyeyune, new signing Nunda, Ivan Serubiri, Mikidad Ssenyonga among others.
