Sweden-based Ugandan blogger Peng Peng, real names Raymond Mutumba has been arrested.

This development comes a day after Turkey-based blogger, Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye aka chemical Ali was arrested pending extradition to Uganda to answer cyber crime and defamation.

From the video making round on social media, a sheriff is seen handcuffing Peng Peng in Sweden but we are yet to know the reason behind his arrest.

Peng Peng was also placed on the list of wanted bloggers by the Ugandan government over toxic information they share online.

Through Facebook Live, Peng Peng, Fred Lumbuye, Kojja Omugezi, Kimbugwe, Eddie Mesiah, among others over a long time have been spreading toxic information against the NRM government, the first family, Buganda Kingdom and government personalities.

Peng Peng popularised blogging; he started sharing exclusive information about celebrities, later switched to politics. He supported People Power/NUP in the recent concluded elections.

Peng has been referred to as the the most controversial and disrespectful blogger; he hurls heavy words at people, calling them all sorts of names. This prompted the government to put him on the wanted list.

Recently Peng fell out with NUP fanatics after he attacked their principle, Bobi Wine.

Recently the government of Uganda declared war on persons spreading fake news.

Since president Museveni instructed security operatives to arrest social media ‘idiots’, a number of people have been arrested.
