Singer Evelyn Lagu Pledges Support To President Museveni After Clearing Her 50m Medical Bill

April 8, 2020

Singer, Nakabira Evelyn aka Evelyne Lagu has pledged support to president Museveni.

Lagu who was recently discharged from Nakasero Hospital after recovering from heart, kidney and lung complications, had almost given up on her life after running broke.

Lagu spent 7 months battling with illness and her pockets had run dry and president Museveni through Gen. Nalyeyiso contacted Balaam barugahara who intervened and transferred Lagu to Nakasero where she spent 10 days.

By the time they took her to Nakasero she could not walk. Lagu was discharged last week and could walk on her own.

Lagu quoted the bible (Revelation 18:6), it says “Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.”

She thanked president Museveni for altruistic heart after clearing her 50m medical bill and says there is nothing she can repay him than stand by him and support his government.

Read her Statement below;

My name is Nakabira Evelyn also known as Evelyn Lagu (stage name). With a very sober mind I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the president of the Republic of Uganda for the altruistic heart.

You all know the situation I was going through before His Excellence ordered for my transfer to Nakasero Hospital where I got a new life.
For the starters, I had spent close to 7months bedridden with heart, kidney and lung complications. My pockets had gone completely dry due to the costly medication and upkeep. My friends, family tried what they could (I appreciate them too) but stills the bills could not be met. For sure I had completely lost hopes of survival and left everything to God.

When I received a call telling me that president Museveni had ordered for my transfer to Nakasero Hospital moreover he was going to pay the bills, I thought I was dreaming or else it was a mental problem. For certain, I couldn’t believe the sudden change of fortune. It was real.

For the days I spent at Nakasero Hospital, I was treated like a VIP. I received whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it and still receiving. My bill totalling close to UGX50,000,000 was paid by president Museveni and he’s still paying more because I have not stopped visiting the hospital. He also promised that Nakasero hospital will be my Hospital in case of any illness.

Nakasero is an extremely nice hospital, well equipped and with very caring medics. I assure you when I get a chance of seeing the president in camera (face to face), I will tell him we all (Ugandans) need better health services similar to what I saw at the “resurrection” place Nakasero.

There’s a verse in the Bible, (Revelation 18:6), it says “Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.”
As a believer I will be hypocritical if don’t pay back to the person who gave me another life. I might not be able to payback Mzee Museveni in double but let me give him the little I have. From today I will stand by him and support his government.

The bible again says (Proverbs 19:17), “One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed.”

About the photo in which I appear in a red T-shirt which is making rounds on social media, It’s an old pic being circulated by a stonehearted female creature trying to disorganize my mind. I kindly ask you madam to keep me out of politics, nkyali mulwadde bambi.

For other brothers and sisters in the opposition, I love you so much. Don’t judge me please!

For God and My Country.
