Sheilah Gashumba and Sheila Salta have been sacked from Naguru Summit-based NBS Television, two months after the station laid off 30 employees.

In December, Next Media Services CEO, Kin Kariisa relieved 30 staff members of their duties in a process to realign the company’s digital realignment process.

Among the laid-off staff were Noah Kyeyune, Edris Kiggundu, Turyagumanawe, John Kibalizi, Fatia Nassali, Aminah Nabukenya, Micheal Kigozi, Jordan Mubangizi, Esther Namutamba, and Karitas Karisimbi, Bismac Moses Amumpaire, Hilda Bahati, Agatha ‘Loswash’ Atiti among many more others.

Today, NBS TV showed the door to NBS ‘After 5’ co-host, Sheila Gashumba. The Lil Stunner signed with NBS TV in November 2021 and joined Douglas Lwanga, MC Kats, DJ Roja and DVJ Mercy Pro on NBS ‘After 5’ show.

Another person they have shown the door is Sheila Salta, who has been hosting ‘Katch Up’.

Sheila Gashumba and Salta’s exit is no brainer and we saw it coming.

When Kenyan broadcasting power house, NRG started a radio station in Uganda, NRG Radio 106.5 FM, it has been hunting top celebrities to give it mileage.

They first signed Salta who is now presenting Drive show from 3-7pm from Monday to Friday.

Recently, Sheila Gashumba also landed a gig on NRG Radio and she co-presents a program, NRG Total Access UG 7-10PM with DJ VX Faisal.

A source from NBS TV who preferred anonymity, intimated to us that there was no way Gashumba and Salta were going to survive the axe due to the fact that they started working for a rival station.

It should be noted that NRG radio is in direct competition with Next Media Services’ Nxt Radio and both target the same audience.

For Sheila we believe it’s a blessing in disguise because she will have enough time to promote her business, Gash Luxe which she launched recently.
