Sheilah Gashumba has blasted politicians who have made it a habit of turning burials into political rallies and told them to show respect.
Sheilah’s outburst comes following the burial of former Rubaga South MP and comedian, Kato Lubwama who was buried yesterday.
At his burial, NUP president, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine declared himself as the legitimate president of Uganda and spent most of his speech blasting the government and its officials.
Bobi also attacked artists who are siding with the government and plot to pocket 30Bn.
Other politicians who were given an opportunity to speak especially from the opposition, used their time to aim a dig at the government.
Mathias Walukaga insinuated that he received bad news that the sick person was getting better (we all know he meant president Museveni).
This did not go well with socialite, Sheilah Gashumba who asked politicians to to stop political speeches at burials, reminding them they are not political rallies.
But politicians need to stop all these politics speeches at people’s burials!! It’s not campaign party. It’s a BURIAL……Sheilah Gashumba
Burials used to be burials in the past but these days, politicians seize opportunity to pass on their own agendas and attack those on the opposition.
Some use the opportunity to let mourners know they are coming for another term or they are going to stand for elections.
