People Power Defy Quarantine Directives, Appoint Dr. Waru As Bobi Wine’s Deputy

April 8, 2020

People Power has today announced Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru as Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s deputy. The announcement of Lina as deputy to the People Power Principal (Bobi Wine) took place at their office in Kamwokya.

Since People Power movement emerged, Bobi Wine has not been having a deputy. Last year he made efforts and appointed former NTV journalist, Joel Ssenyonyi as People Power spokesperson.

With the pressure group organising to challenge the incumbent Yoweri Museveni in 2021 presidential elections, they realized need to shape up.

Bobi Wine took to social media to announce the news in this trying time of Coronavirus quarantine.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Countrymen and women!

I take this opportunity to introduce to you comrade Dr. Zedriga Lina Waru Abuku, the Deputy Leader of the People Power Movement.

Comrade Zedriga is an activist, lawyer and university lecturer. She is a retired judicial officer, author and mentor. She is a social inclusion advocate and has participated in Uganda’s political processes for a very long time. She has borne the brunt of the regime’s excesses as will be communicated in due course.

We are very excited to welcome her to the leadership of the People Power Movement. Aluta continua!
