Fik Fameica on why he joined the new Musicians Federation

Singer Walukagga Shafik aka Fik Fameica has revealed reasons why he decided to join the new musicians Federation.

It is led by his fellow musician Eddy Kenzo real name Edirisa Musuuza who has been representing Uganda on bigger platforms.

There has been an association taking musicians under one umbrella. But it failed to solve the problems of artistes especially the copy right which has been an issue for a long time.

With this new Federation, it has been formed with the valid reasons of working on the copy rights and also trying to get on the same line with the UPRS.

There are musicians like Fik Fameica who are rare in such things like leadership or associations taking on musicians.

With the Federation, Fik Fameica is fully engaged. When asked the reasons he said he wants to fight for the copy rights of his work.

According to Fik Fameica, it has been an issue but since the federation is stronger, this issue might get solved as soon as possible. And that’s why he joined it.

“I joined the Music Federation to give attention to copyright issues. It has been an issue but the federation is promising we just need to give it time” Fik Fameica said
