A Ugandan national, Fred Ronald Niwagira Mwiine aka Ronnie Santos Mwine will today appear before a Kisumu court where he will face immigration and corruption related charges for attempting to fix a Betking Premier league match.

Mwine was on Saturday arrested at a Kisumu hotel trying to bribe four Western Stima players and the team manager in order to lose yesterday’s Kenynan Premier League fixture against KCB.

Western Stima Chairman Laban Jobita said that his players were approached by an unknown person convincing them to fix the match in question.

Mwiine blockered Sekisambu’s deal to join KCCA FC

“So, I told my players to play along, but ensure they have recorded whatever was happening. I also told my team manager to ensure he has called me so that I follow up on the conversation in secrecy,” Jobita told Goal.

“I heard everything that was going on in the room and how he wanted to make a down-payment of Ksh70,000.

“He had promised to pay Ksh600,000 once the deal goes through as planned. It is at this point that we stormed the hotel and the man was arrested. He is currently remanded at Kisumu Central Police Station.

“My players have agreed to testify against him once he is arraigned.”

Mwiine aided Galiwango’s deal from Express FC to Vipers SC

Jobita says that Mugisha has confessed to working with many people in many countries to fix games.

However, Mugisha is yet to be convicted with investigations still underway while he is detained in police custody (DCI) at Kisumu Central Police Station.

If found guilty, Mugisha risks cancellation of his FUFA/FIFA players intermediary license and a lifetime ban from all football activities.

Mwiine is an agent to various players; Keziron Kizito, Disan Galiwango, Erisa Sekisambu,
