Suspected Robber Shot Dead At Land Mark Hostel Nakawa

suspected robber was shot dead this morning after he attempted to grab a gun from the GKO security guard at Land Mark Hostel, Nakawa.
How It Happened:
This morning the 31st of Jan 2020, Police at Bugolobi Police station recieved information of an alleged shooting at Land Mark Hostel Nakawa.
We Immediately responded to the scene and we were able to establish that ;
At around 5:30 am more than two unknown thugs unlawfully accessed Land mark Hostel in nakawa. The hostel houses mainly students of Makerere Business School(MUBS).
The Hostel is also guarded by private guards from GKO security company.
It is alleged that the thugs used master keys to further access rooms of two Female students , who were also in their rooms deep asleep.
Upon accessing the rooms, they robbed their property like phones and a laptop.The guard lator saw them running away from the scene. He ordered them to stop but instead one of the thugs allegedly turned against him and attempted to disarm him.
The guard amidst a lot of struggle managed to overpower the suspected thug and shot him.
The other suspects number yet to be established, consequently took off having realised that their colleague had been shot.
The deceased is still unknown as he had no any identification document on him.
One laptop and 4 mobile phones that had been stolen from the students’ rooms have been recovered and identified by the owners.
A gun serial number UG POL 12084537 00236 which the deceased attempted to grab from the guard was recovered having been allegedly damaged by the deceased. It has since been exhibited.
Body of the deceased has since been conveyed to city mortuary for postmortem.
Investigations still ongoing and the hunt for the remaining suspects who are currently on the run is still ongoing.
