Ugandan goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato has penned a two year deal with Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka FC.

Ssebwato fills the void left by his compatriot Ismail Watenga who has been reportedly released by the Batoto Ba Mungu.

Watenga has been the first choice custodian of Sofapaka ahead of Richard Aimo and Isaiah Wakasala but impeccable sources reveal the Uganda Cranes goalkeeper already received his release letter from club.

Ssebwato who has been playing for Bright Stars in the UPL, will be unveiled in the Sofapaka colours on January 2nd 2020.

The experienced shot stopper has had limited playing time at Bright Stars and only managed three appearances against Vipers, Express and Busoga United.

Other Ugandan players at Sofapaka in Mohamed Kasirye, winger Peter Lwasa and defender Allan Katwe are also rumored on their way out of the club.

Former Vipers and BUL FC defender Musa Malunda was among the first five players released by the club early this month.

Ssebwato has previously played for KCCA, SC Villa, Onduparaka, Bright Stars (two stints) and Coastal Union in Tanzania.

The 2009 Kenya Premier League winners are eighth on the table with 21 points accumulated from 13 games played.
