Local rapper, Walukagga Shafik aka Fik Fameica is working on a new album in preparation for post Covid-19 lockdown era.
Most artistes have resorted to releasing albums; Sheebah Karungi dropped ‘Samali’, Ykee Benda released ‘Kirabo’, Azawi has ‘African Music’, Jose Chameleone is set to release ‘Iam Joseph’ among many others.
Since his breakthrough in 2016 with hit song ‘Kutama’, Fik Fameica has managed to drop three albums; Kutama, My Journey and Skonto.
He has also managed to land international collabos; ‘Wansakata’ FT Nigerian, Joeboy, ‘Omu Bwati’ FT Nigerian superstar, Pato Ranking, ‘Acha Ungese’ FT Tanzanian, Rosa Ree, ‘Bedroom’ FT Tanzanian crooner, Hermonize among others.
This year he has already recorded three singles; Lov Lov, Lock, Buligita and other collabos as he put final touch on the album.
Reliable sources say Fik Fameica will drop the new album in December anticipating bookings in January when president Museveni lifts the ban on concerts.
Fik has been hard working and dropping mega hits but his maiden concert dubbed ‘My Journey’ at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds in December 2018 flopped due to bad timing and organisation.
This resulted into parting ways with his manager by then, Karma Ivien.
We believe he can do better this time around.
