Dele Alli apologises for mocking coronavirus Snapchat videoFebruary 10, 2020
Tottenham’s Dele Alli has apologised for a Snapchat video he posted about the coronavirus outbreak.
Alli sent a clip in which he can be seen wearing a facemask, with an accompanying message that read, “Corona whattt, please listen with volume.”
The video was seen by Paul Clarke of Football.London, and he confirmed that the camera then panned to an Asian man.
The 23-year-old England international swiftly deleted the video on Saturday before taking to Chinese social media platform Weibo on Sunday.
He posted: “Hi guys, it’s Dele; I just wanted to apologise on my behalf for the video I posted on Snapchat yesterday.
“It isn’t something that should be joked about. I’m sending all my love and all my thoughts and prayers to everyone in China.”
