Blow for Uganda Cranes As KCCA FC Goalkeeper, Charles Lukwago Ruled Out Of CHAN

Uganda Cranes plans for CHAN 2020 have been dealt with blow after KCCA FC goalkeeper, Charles Lukwago suffered a broken arm in 1-1 draw against Express FC yesterday at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

Lukwago, who is regarded as the best goalkeeper in the league, suffered a broken arm and will be sidelined for at least 6 weeks according to KCCA FC team doctor, Ivan Sewanyana.

This year’s CHAN kicks off in Cameroon on April 4, and Lukwago would not have fully recovered.

Uganda Cranes are drawn in Group C with rivals, Rwanda, Togo and  Morocco.

Lukwago’s injury means Uganda Cranes head coach Johnny McKinstry and goalkeeping coach, Fred Kajoba will now switch their focus on other keepers; Joel Mutakubwa (Tooro United), Saidi Keni (SC Villa) , Nafian Alionzi Legason (URA).
