Zex Bilangilangi, real name Mayega Tadeo B is planning to quit Bobi Wine’s Firebase Crew and start his own music label.

The Fast-rising star broke onto the music scene in 2020 with his club bangers ‘Ratata’ and ‘Nalinda’ that took Ugandans by storm and topped music charts.

In March, Zex Bilangilangi declared his intention to take over Firebase Crew presidency from Bobi Wine arguing that the Ghetto Gladiator was too busy with politics.

We have been told that Zex thinks Firebase as a music label has not helped him much musically. He was overheard telling his close friends that he is considering quitting despite his love for Bobi Wine.

Since Bobi Wine joined active politics in 2017, Fire Base Crew lost ground and the young artistes under the label feel neglected. Nubian Li’s arrest who was the Vice president to Bobi Wine also made the matters worse.

As we speak, most Fire Base Crew artistes are working on their own if they have not quit the label in secrecy.

Zex who joined Firebase Entertainment in 2015 after emerging winner of a Talent Search competition, already has plans in the pipeline to start his label dubbed ‘Geng Geng’ and recruit talented young stars.
