South African based Ugandan socialite has urged the police to stop harassing the opposition following the arrests NUP presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and FDC’s Patrick Amuriat yesterday.

The security operatives accused Bobi Wine and Amuriat of failing to adhere to Covid-19 Standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The  arrests sparked off riots in different parts of the country which resulted into death and injuries as some of the traders lost properties to the looters.

To Zari this is injustice and impunity in the campaigning process. She argues that NRM candidates pull crowds and police does nothing and wondered why do they arrest and teargas the opposition?

I think people are not mad about NRM candidates as a whole. Its the injustice and impunity in the campaigning process. Some NRM people pull crowds and police does nothing yet the same police goes ahead to harass the opposition. #endpolicebrutality #FreeandFareCampaigns ✊”, Zari posted on Instagram.

Recently People Power fanatics hurled abuses at Zari after she asked whether Bobi Wine has credentials to lead Uganda.

As Uganda gears up for presidential elections on January 14, 2021, 11 candidates are traversing the country to convince the voters to elect them.
