URA FC have appointed CAF A licensed football tactician Sam Timbe as their new manager on a one year contract.

Timbe, who is a seasoned winner with various clubs both on the continent of Africa and beyond will see his immediate task at the club take him to the continent for the CAF Confederations Cup.

He boasts of a managerial career that can be seen as a source of envy for many of his counterparts in the game thanks to the success marks it leaves.

A journey of milestones across the East African region and beyond the borders have seen him win a host of titles while at it.

He has won the CECAFA Kagame Cup with four different clubs including SC Villa (2005), Police FC (2006), Atraco from Rwanda (2009) and in 2011 with Tanzanian side Young Africans.

This most spectacular adventure has also seen him coach in Kenya with teams like Sofapaka and Tusker FC, who he left in 2018 to take a sabbatical and eventually return to join Malaysian side Persatuan Bolasepak Sarawak FC in 2020.

Timbe’s stay at the club as earlier mentioned will be limited to just a year and along this journey, the gaffer will work with Simeon Masaba as head coach.

Robert Mukasa will be the assistant coach, Billy Kiggundu remains the goalkeeper coach, Edward Ssali will assume the physical trainer role while the cub has a new role in Strength and conditioning which will be taken up by Okuba Byron.

The confirmation also comes timely as URA FC prepares to host Ethiopian Coffee in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup Preliminary round fixture that will take centre stage this Sunday, September 12th at the St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

The team has already set camp at the venue and various training programs are ongoing in a bid to intensify preparations.

Timbe comes with a lot of experience to the Tax Collectors, something which will be important for the young team the club has put up. The expectation from the team is greatness.
