Uganda Cranes defender, Murushid Juuko Joins Vipers SC

Uganda Cranes defender, Murushid Juuko has joined StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions, Vipers SC ahead of 2020/21 season.

Juuko has been without a club after being released by Moroccan top division side, Wydad Casablanca in January.

This is the second time Juuko is joining Vipers SC. He played for Vipers SC (Bunamwaya) FC between 2009-2012 winning the 2010/11 Uganda Premier League title.

Juuko spent most of his playing career with Tanzanian giants, Simba SC making over 155 appearances, winning two league titles, the Tanzania FA Cup and Mapinduzi Cup between 2014-2019.

After impressing in 2019 African Nations Cup in Egypt, Murushid Juuko joined Wydad Casablanca in Morocco on a two-year contract but was released in January.

A number of clubs; KCCA, Bloemfontein Celtic (South Africa) and St George (Ethiopia) have been chasing his signature but Murushid decided to rejoin Vipers SC.

The 26-year-old was part of the Cranes team that played at the 2017 and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

At Fred Kajooba’s led Vipers SC, he has to battle it with Geoffrey Wasswa, Haid Lwaliwa for a starting place.
