The Uganda Cranes chances of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar are OVER after registering 1-1 draw against Harambe Stars of Kenya at St.Mary’s Stadium Kitende this evening.

The Cranes came from behind to snatch a draw at home after Michael Olunga gave the visitors a lead in 60th minute. With two minutes to full time, Fahad Bayo scored an equalizer after Kenyan goalkeeper, Brian Bwire made a blunder.

Uganda Cranes’ hopes of qualifying were further dealt a blow after table leaders Mali managed to beat Rwanda 3-0 in Kigali.

With one fixture remaining, Mali have already advanced to third round where ten group winners from the second round will be drawn into five home-and-away ties.

The winners of each fixture will advance to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

As Group E stands after 5 matches, Mali are on top with 13 points, Uganda 9, Kenya 3 and Rwanda at the bottom with 1 point.
