Ronald Mubiru hawking Nsenene aboard Uganda Airlines

The passenger filmed hawking Nsenene on Uganda Airlines aboard flight No.446 to Dubai, has been identified as Ronald Mubiru.

Uganda Airlines management and Kampala Capital City Traders Association (KACITA) managed to identify the sharp guy who took advantage as the passengers board the flight and started selling Nsenene to the excited travelers in the economy class.

According to KACITA chairperson, Thaddeus Musoke, Mubiru is a known purchasing agent for several business people in Uganda who plies the Dubai route.

He is also a transporter (locally known as Katumwa) who transports goods from Dubai on behalf of other traders who do not want to travel

In the video, Mr Mubiru who is seen holding a big, blue polythene bag and telling the passengers that the Ugandan delicacy goes for Shs10,000 per scoop.

After the video went viral, Works and Transport minister, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala ordered the airline to take action against the staff who were in charge at the time of the incident.

Through statement, the Airline condemned the act but picked positives. They are now planning to add Nsenene (grasshoppers), to their menu for regional and international flights on request.

The airline management believe this will boost tourism marketing and the livelihood of people in the grasshopper value chain going forward.

Mubiru and a colleague have come out and apologised for the incident and promised never to do it again.
