July 5, 2020

As Coronavirus continue to ravage the economy, a lot of businesses are struggling and others have shutdown due to lack of finances.

At the beginning of March this year, Digida FM employees woke up in shock after reaching at the radio premises in Bukoto only to be told to go back home.

The radio owner, Ssegawa Ronald Gyagenda got fed up of running a non profit business and added Digida FM frequency to his Masaka based station, Buddu FM.

For close to 4-years, Digida FM was struggling to compete with other stations in Kampala yet the owner was spending a lot on employees and license.

The owner made a bold decision and combined it with Buddu FM. When you tune in, you listen to Buddu FM not Digida.

The Untimely closure left workers unemployed and claim they were not paid for their services.

Former employees including Robert (Tata Sam) through their lawyers, Kigenyi – Opira & Co. Advocates have served Notice of Intention to Sue to the managing director of defunct Digida FM, Ssegawa Ronald Gyagenda to pay their salary arrears in 3 days or drag him to court.
