Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick lamented another two points dropped at home after their 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday.

Che Adams canceled out Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho‘s opener for the 1-1 draw.

Ralf Rangnick’s side took a first-half lead but crumbled in the second-half for the third match in succession after a dominant start to the match at Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho netted his first United home goal since joining last summer as part of an impressive opening performance, but Southampton levelled just three minutes into the second-half through Che Adams.

It was the latest Jekyll and Hyde performance from United in the last three matches and Luke Shaw believes his side paid the price for wasting so many scoring opportunities.

Rangnick said, “Unfortunately it was very similar to the last couple of games. A very good first half, very good first half hour. We did all the things we intended to do with the counter attacks ands the deep runs. We created, scored a great goal. Then we stopped doing that; at the end of the first half we didn’t do those things anymore and then in the second we lost a bit of shape.

“In the first 20 minutes we were struggling to defend, that happened in transition when they scored their goal. In the last 20 minutes, we had big chances to score again, expected goals was in our favour but we didn’t get the result.

“We told the players they needed to be aggressive [at half time] but in the end it is different to perform like that on the pitch.”
