Rachel K Set To Feature In New Movie ‘MR-9’ With Frank Grillo, Michael Jai White

Halima Namakula’s daughter, Rachel Kiwanuka aka Rachel K is set to feature in a new spy thriller film ‘MR-9’ featuring Frank Grillo, Michael Jai White, and ABM Sumon.

Racheal K tried careers in singing, television, events hosting, comedy, dancing and she has now ventured in the movie industry.

Reports indicate that apart from featuring in movie, Rachel K is also part of the production team that is filming the movie in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, USA.

It should be noted that Rachael K’s brother, Hemdee Kiwanuka who is professionally a movie actor and producer, also features among the producers of this very project and he is currently doing other shoots in Bangladesh.

MR-9, Asif Akbar’s spy thriller movie casts reputable names in the business such as; Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight), ABM Sumon (Dhoka), and Matt Passmore (Jigsaw).

Sakshi Pradhan (Poison), Niko Foster (Army Of One), Omi Vaidya (3 Idiots), Oleg Prudius (Wolf Warrior 2), Jackie Siegel (The Queen of Versailles), Anisur Rahman Milon (The Last Thakur) and Shahidul Alam Sachchu will be starring in the movie.

Chasing Butterflies Pictures, LA-based Al Bravo Films and MR-9 Films, and Bangladeshi-based Jaaz Multimedia, are the production houses behind the highly anticipated movie.

Writer-director Asif Akbar sources MR-9 movie from the famous original first novel Masud Rana: Dhonghsho Pahar (Demolition Hill) written by late novelist Qazi Anwar Hussain.

Rachel K’s featured-in film is scheduled for release in 2023.

Rachel’s latest single is “Captivating” which she released earlier in 2022 under her record label, No End Entertainment.

The daughter of Ugandan singer Halima Namakula, Kiwanuka has recorded several successful albums, toured widely throughout the region and collaborated with Ugandan and other regional artists. She has also worked as a comedian and television presenter, making appearances on such mainstream broadcasts as Jam Agenda and Tusker Project Fame.
