Nigerian Artistes Omah Lay, Tems Set To Return Home After Being Released From Jail

The Nigerian trio; Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi have been released and set to return home after the state decided to withdraw charges against them.

Yesterday, Makindye chief magistrate, Okumu Jude Muwone charged the the trio with the offense of neglect act likely to spread of infectious disease, Section 171 of Penal Code Act and remanded them until wednesday.

This sparked anger among some Ugandans and Nigerians who accused Ugandan authorities of malice, arguing that the trio had no case to answer since they were cleared to perform in the country.

Omah Lay and Tems had thrilled revelers in a concert that took place Sunday night at Ddungu Resort, Munyonyo.

Following the complaints from Ugandan artistes that have not been allowed to perform since March, Police arrested Omah Lay, Tems and other seven accomplices on Monday morning and were arraigned before Makindye chief magistrate.

After being remanded, social media went on fire as some Nigerians artistes threatened never to perform again in Uganda.

Some Ugandan artistes; Bebe Cool, Pallaso among others also called for their release.

Today, Makindye chief magistrate, Okumu Jude Muwone signed the release order and the trio have been released.

We have been reliably informed that Omah Lay, Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi will fly tonight and go back to Nigeria.
