Maurice Kirya, the king of Afro-soul has expanded his coffee business ‘The Sound Cup Coffee’ in Netherlands.

Maurice Kirya started ‘The Sound Cup Coffee’ in 2013 to commemorate his family who used to cook and cater to communities on the streets of Kampala, Uganda.

Kirya revealed that during that period, he fell in love with coffee and set himself a goal to start a coffee shop in the future.

The ‘King of Mwooyo’ started with an outlet at Garden City and now he opened up another outlet in the Netherlands.

It should be noted that Maurice Kirya’s fiancee, Lisa Gceverbeek is a dutch and she blessed ‘Nze ani?’ hitmaker with a a baby girl in June 2018.

Where it started

As a teenager Maurice Kirya, grew up in a humble family that was passionate about music and food, and as a family, they cooked and catered to their community in the streets of Kampala, Uganda.

It was during this time that Maurice fell in love with coffee, and vowed to not only dig deeper into it’s taste and science, but also to use coffee to impact the lives of his community, farmers, and those in the arts industry.

Since 2013, The Sound Cup has used it’s platform to fundraise for various community outreaches, health awareness and research programs, create employment for the youth, and support music and arts initiatives.
