Manchester United are firming up their interest in Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Calvert-Lewin has “admirers” at Old Trafford for his attacking ability, particularly the forward’s “aerial duels in open play, receiving in the box and shooting”.

And this has been showing in key stats, with the 23-year-old scoring the most non-penalty goals in the Premier League this season by finding the net 11 times.

The Everton star also has the 10th-most touches in the box [70], is third for aerial balls won [65], second for total shots on target [24] and third for headed shots on target [7].

The Athletic says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side reportedly enquired about the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window, with Everton valuing him at £80million.

His stats will appeal to Solskjaer as the report states they are “higher than anyone at United”.

Immediate negotiations, though, will be hard to come by as Calvert-Lewin signed a new contract until 2025 this year.
