Kroenke tells Arteta to sell before he can buy players

December 30, 2020

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been told he must sell in January before buying.

The Daily Express says Gunners owner Stan Kroenke has told Arteta that he will need to sell players before anyone can be brought in.

The Gunners are crying out for a creative midfielder to fire them up the table, with Houssam Aouar (Lyon) and Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund) at the top of Arteta’s wishlist.

However players will have to leave the Emirates before any new names can come in this January.

Hector Bellerin has been widely linked with a January move to Barcelona, and with the contracts of Mesut Ozil, Sokratis, David Luiz and Skhodran Mustafi expiring next summer, it’s possible that any of those players could leave in January while Arsenal can still receive a fee for them.
