Jose Chameleone In Big Trouble As URA Drags Him To Ant-Corruption Court Over Shs.137m

Hours after Sound Cover Records owner, Producer Diggy Baur accused legendary and 2021 Kampala Lord Mayor hopeful, Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone of attacking and beating them up at his studio in Luwafu-Makindye, Uganda Revenue Authority have dragged the ‘Baliwa’ hitmaker to court over possession of unaccustomed goods (V8 Land Cruiser).

Chameleone has been summoned by the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Buganda Road attached to anti-corruption division, Kampala to answer charges of being in possession of unaccustomed goods (V8 Land Cruiser).

Uganda Police have also been notified.

The letter says on April 12th, 2020 Jose Chameleone was found by customs in possession of vehicle registration number SSD 499B; URA enforcement team intercepted him along Wakaliga-Bulange Mengo.

Chameleobe was asked to avail the team with documentation regarding the legal status of the vehicle in Uganda which he promised but failed.

Import duty has been paid on the said vehicle in Uganda and it is valued at UGX 137,350,725 (Uganda Shillings One Hundred Thirty-Seven Million Five Hundred and seventy-five only); Chameleone knew or ought reasonably to have known that the vehicle unit was unaccustomed.

Therefore, Chameleone has been commanded to appear in the anti-corruption Court at Kololo on July 30th at 9am.
