Irene Namubiru and her biological mother, Justine Nyanzi Namawejje are currently battling in court over property that is situated in Mityana.
After the court hearing in Mubende yesterday, Irene Namibiru told journalists that whatever happens to her, her mum will be responsible. She says her mum wants to finish her off.

Irene Namubiru says her grandfather, Godfrey Nyanzi Ssemitego gave her one Acre of land in words before he died on August 28th, 1998.
Godfrey Nyanzi Ssemitego left two children; Justine Nyanzi Namawejje (Irene Namubiru’s mum) and Brenda Nyanzi Kigema.
According to Irene’s aunt, Brenda Nyanzi Kigema she says that it’s true her dad gave the singer and her brother, Roberto Nsimbe an acre each but Justine Nyanzi Namawejje wants to steal her share.
But Irene’s mum, Justine Nyanzi Namawejje, she claims that in 2009 she wanted to get letters of administration but due to the fact that she was sick, she sent Irene and Brenda Nyanzi Kigema who reached in lands office and connived to steal the land.
Brenda Nyanzi Kigema trashed Justine Nyanzi Namawejje allegations and said she wants Roberto Nsimbe and Irene to get their share off the eight acres and before sharing land with her sister, Justine Nyanzi Namawejje.
Court was adjourned for May 13th, 2021.
It should be noted that Irene and her family bitterly fell out in 2013 after she was arrested in Japan with drugs.
Irene was booked for a music concert at the Golden Holy in Japan by promoter, Kim Ueno. Before her departure, It is said that her manager and half brother, Thaddeus Mubiru connived with music promoter, Kim Ueno and gave Irene luggage that contained drugs. Upon reaching in Tokyo at the Narita International Airport, she was arrested.
After being cleared of drug traffic charges, Irene fell out with Thaddeus Mubiru and some members of the family, who she claims were badmouthing her.
