Investigative Journalist, Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira Joins Political Race, To Contest As Member of Parliament

Renown Radio and TV investigative journalist, Kazibwe bashir Mbaziira has announced that he will contest as a member of Parliament to represent the people of Kawempe South in the upcoming 2021 general elections.

Mbaziira who presents ‘Ekilya Atabala’ on Bukedde FM and has been hosting a must watch ‘One on one With Tamale Mirundi’ on NBS TV took to his Facebook page and confirmed the development.

Am offering my self to stand as member of Parliament to represent the people of #KawempeSouth in the upcoming polls.
Details about our program, agenda and manifesto will be given out in the coming days and weeks.

He has not announced the party ticket he is going to contest on but shared ‘People Power’ badge on his Facebook account.

Kawempe South is being represented in the Ugandan parliament by Abdullafif Sebaggala Sengendo.

Mbaziira, the president of Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) almost died in 2019 after being poisoned. He was transfered to Nairobi where he recieved treatment.

His announcement comes hours after the Electoral Commission announced the 2021 elections road map.

His show with Tamale Mirundi on NBS TV is no more after the self proclaimed ‘Omukenkufu’ lost battle against the mafias and was suspended off radio and television stations indefinitely.
