Routine Blast - Omah Lay (L) with Bebe Cool (M) after following his release from prisons

Today, Nigerian artistes Stanley Omah Didia aka Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems were released after spending a night in prison

They are set to return home after the state decided to withdraw charges against them.

Yesterday, Makindye chief magistrate, Okumu Jude Muwone charged Omah Lay and Tems with the offense of neglect act likely to spread of infectious disease for performing at a concert that was organised at

Ddungu Resort, Munyonyo on Sunday night. They were remanded until Wednesday but after the intervention of Bebe Cool and Nigerian High Commission, the state dropped the charges.

Tems, Omah Lay and their accomplices were all released this afternoon.

Since yesterday, Bebe Cool was calling for their release but he is the person who landed them in trouble.

When he learnt about the concert, Bebe Cool took to his Facebook page and vowed to fail the event. Bebe Cool said Ugandan artistes were barred from staging events due to Covid-19 vowed that he won’t allow Nigerians to come and perform. He also asked the organiser to cancel the concert.

Due to his influence, Ugandans picked on it and word spread to authorities who came to know about the concert. Bebe Cool later deleted the post, but word had already spread.

After Tems and Omah Lay were remanded, some big name Nigerian artistes like Tiwa Savage, Davido, Burna Boy, Rude Boy among others took to their socials and demanded for their release.

Others threatened never to perform in Uganda citing unfairness.

The trouble causer, Bebe Cool and other Ugandan artistes also joined efforts and called on the government to release Tems and Omah Lay.

Due to his strong links with NRM government, today, Bebe Cool worked tirelessly and got them out of prison.

Unfortunately Karma is a b***h, this evening he was kicked out of Nigerian High Commission together with NBS TV ‘UnCut’ co-host, Kaiyz.

We have been informed that Tems and Omah Lay are set to fly back to Nigeria tonight.
