In August 2018, Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi and his colleagues found themselves in trouble with the presidential guard, the Special forces Command SFC) and they were thumped.

Bobi Wine who had gone to Arua to campaign for Kassiano Wadri for Arua Municipality MP found himself in the fracas as president Museveni was in the same area to campaign for Nusura Tiperu, the then NRM flag-bearer.

The meeting became bloody and Bobi Wine’s driver, Yasin Kawuma was shot dead in the process.

As security operatives were involved in running battles with Wadri’s supporters, one of the vehicles in the presidential motorcade had its windscreen smashed, leading to the arrest of over 30 suspects, including Wadri, Bobi Wine, Night Asarah, Shaban Atiku and Francis Zaake (Mityana Municipality MP).

In the process of capturing the above mentioned, some were beaten and the likes of Francis Zaake and Bobi WIne were mostly affected.

From the video circulating on social media, president Museveni says he was surprised the SFC acted properly as they are not police minded.

“The other day there was a fracas in West Nile, where our young friend Bobi Wine tried to fight with the security people. I think they beat him a bit and then they came and say hooo a member of parliament was beaten, then i said let me study how he was beaten. When i studied, i found the man was beaten properly in the right way”, Museveni told the security officers.

“When they went where he was in a room, because he had caused problems a day before, he tried boxing them and they boxed back until they subdued them”, He added.

Museveni says the SFC acted in self defense saying it was in order.
