Word has it that youthful city tycoon, Hamis Kiggundu aka Ham has lost Shs.18 Billion to conmen over ‘fake’ Bayern Munich sports complex deal.
In November last year, Ham hosted ‘officials’ from Bayern Munich and took them to Mbale District where he bought a big chunk of land to construct a state of the art sports complex.
It is said that the Germans signed paper work that was supposed to pave way for the first payment in the multibillion deal that would see Ham construct a fully fledged sports complex, with a soccer academy.
But as we speak, the deal went bad after a well-organized group scheme orchestrated by Kampala top brains led by Honest Reagan Kavuma aka Champagne Papi throughly managed to con Ham $5,000,000) approximately 18bn.
Honest Reagan Kavuma aka Champagne Papi acquired lease and constructed a football tuff in Munyonyo near Speke Resort named Bayern Arena.
Kavuma had an idea to approach FC Bayern Munich and bankroll him to promote the club in Uganda by setting up different sports complexes across the country.
Unfortunately, he suffered a huge financial set back after he was arrested in Dubai over fraud.
According to WhisperEye, Kavuma Reagan Honest, other Germany-based fraudsters approached Hamis Kiggundu and convinced him to take over the deal.
Ham paid 18 billion ($5,000,000) to become official Bayern Munich agent in Africa.
After failing to receive the official deal, Ham Kiggundu sought the help of detectives at the Kibuli based CID in suspicion that he had been conned.
“Hamis Kiggundu became suspicious and sought the assistance of our detectives, who immediately moved in and arrested a couple of men” WhisperEye wrote.
The security sources further stated that Kavuma together with his group involving foreign nationals conned Tycoon Ham.
“Kavuma and others have since been placed in custody, pending arraignment in court, for obtaining money by false pretense” the police stated.
