Guendouzi hints Arsenal career finished after joining Hertha BSC

Matteo Guendouzi has hinted his career at Arsenal is over.

The French midfielder joined Hertha Berlin on loan after falling out with manager Mikel Arteta.

Guendouzi didn’t play for Arsenal after an incident against Brighton in June, and it appears it was his last game for the north London club.

“I played over 80 games there and had a good, intense time there,” the 21-year-old told Kicker.

“I learned a lot there in terms of sport and grew up there. It was two good years for me.”

On moving to Germany, Guendouzi added that two former teammates encouraged him to make the switch.

“I had a very good relationship with Mesut Ozil and Bernd Leno,” he said. “Both of them told me a lot of good things about the Bundesliga.”
