Former Uganda Cranes Star, Tonny Mawejje Joins Police FC

2005 Uganda Premier League champions, Police FC have unveiled former Uganda Cranes midfielder, Tonny Mawejje.

Mawejje signed a two year’s employment contract for the Abdallah Mubiru coached side.

Mawejje becomes the first signing for the Cops in this transfer window as they gear up for the upcoming season.

The experienced midfielder has been a free agent since parting ways with Kuwait club AL Arabi Sports Club last year.

He now re-joins Police FC, a club he played for 14 years ago.

Mawejje previously featured for Masaka Local Council FC, KCCA FC, Police FC and URA FC in Uganda.

He has played for; Golden Arrows (South Africa), IBV Vestmannaeyjar (Iceland), Prottur (Iceland), Haugesund (Norway), Valur (Iceland), KF Tirana (Albania) and AL-Arabi Sporting Club (Kuwait).

His last appearance for the Uganda Cranes was during 2017 African Nations Cup finals held in Gabon.

Mawejje has 83 caps,  scoring 8 goals for the Cranes.
