Former NTV Journalist, Dean Lubowa Saava Arrested

Dean Lubowa Saava, a former Journalist with NTV-Uganda, has been arrested on allegations of offensive communication and cyberstalking, Charles Twiine, the Public Relations Officer Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), has confirmed.

Twiine told the media that Saava was arrested by police detectives under the cybercrimes unit following a complaint by the State. 

He revealed that following the complaint, they tracked the social media platforms purportedly used to commit the crime and verified that they belonged to the suspect. 

He said the suspect is under their custody and investigations into the matter are ongoing. 

During his YouTube sessions, it is alleged that Saava accused singer, Irene Namubiru and tycoon, Kassami for killing a person on one of L. Victoria’s private island. He also alleged that events promoter Balaam Barugahara stole Namasagali school land.

This is not the first time Saava is being arrested, in 2018 he was arrested on allegations of fraud, human trafficking and obtaining money by false pretense from Ugandans seeking jobs abroad. 

Dean Lubowa Saava wo also doubles as an artiste worked for NTV, NBS TV and BBS Terefayina.
