Fans have started showering singer, Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso with cash in bid to to rescue his Range Rover from tax collectors, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

This comes after the ‘Malamu’ hitmaker swallowed his pride and went public begging well wishers to help him foot Shs100m in taxes to rescue his car from being auctioned.

In March this year, Pallaso cried on social media as URA threatened to auction his car and asked where they expected him to get money since he was not working. It seems the tax collectors heard his complaint and gave him more time but now it’s over.

I can’t believe URA is auctioning my car for sale. It has been seated there for a year now while I haven’t been on stage to pay for it. My dream car is going to ashes. I wonder how they expect me to be able to pay without work in this pandemic

Pallaso posted in March this year.

After hearing his plea, the well wishers have started sending him money but due to hard times, most are sending as low as Shs500.

Since president Museveni announced ban on gatherings and concerts in march 2020, most artistes have been struggling. Most depend on performances as their major source of income.

Pallaso, a brother to the famous Mayanja boys; Jose Chameleone and Weasel manizo, imported his Range Rover in 2019 hoping to get gigs and clear taxes, unfortunately, Covid-19 happened.

It should be noted that Nigerian superstar, Davido asked his fans to help him clear taxes for his Rolls Royce wrecking in over $300k in the process.
