Evelyne Lagu Arrives In Turkey For Kidney Transplant

Evelyne Lagu has today safely landed in Turkey to undergo kidney transplant following three years battling with deadly sickness.

Lagu who has been battling with kidneny problem for almost 3 years, managed to get funds after well-wishers fundraised for her money to get treatment.

Lagu, accampanied by her son, Freddie Kasavu who is going to donate one of his kidneys to her arrived in Turkey safely waiting for the procedure to take place.

We have been told that before the surgery is done, Evelyne has to undergo tests to verify the safety of the operation. The test have already been done and the results will be out in four days.

Before flying out of the country, Evelyne Lagu’s baby daddy, Andrew Sekisonge had refused their son, Freddie Kasavu from donating his kidney to the ailing mum. But after talks, Sekisonge finally accepted the son to save his mum’s life.

After two years of battling with the sickness, Lagu was admitted to Nakasero Hospital in March last year on president Museveni’s orders and paid 50m bill.

Towards the end of last year, Lagu went down again and she was told she needs a kidney transplant.

In February this year, artistes and well wishers organised a fundraising at Mesach Ssemakula’s, restaurant, Papa’s Spot in Makindye. Mama Fina contributed 20m, Worship House Church senior Pastor, Wilson Bugembe also contributed Shs2M cash and prayed for the actress.

Other celebs that attended the function were; Sophie Nantongo, King Michael, Ronald Mayinja among others.
