Diamond Platnumz, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) honcho has spoken out on a petition calling for his removal from the BET Awards.

The petition was launched soon after his BET nomination under the Best International Act category. The petition has thus far been signed by over 22,000 people.

Speaking to Wasafi TV, the Jeje singer said he was unperturbed by the petition, adding that he respects everyone’s opinion.

“I respect everyone’s opinion. Whether you insult or praise me, I am grateful. That means you remembered me, and that is a blessing from God,” Diamond Platnumz said.

He pointed out that it does not necessarily mean that those who launched the petition hate him.

“Not everyone who speaks negatively about you today hates you. Perhaps they woke up in a foul mood. Tomorrow, they might regret their actions and ask for forgiveness,” said the father of four.

However, Diamond Platnumz did not delve further into the matter, saying he would officially address it in a radio interview.

Speaking on his brief musical hiatus, Diamond said he is set to start releasing new music soon.

“I have not released a song in seven months, but when you go to YouTube, I am still prominently featured, and I thank God. I am about to start my year as an artiste,” he said.
