Barcelona are in contact with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Sport says Barca have been in contact with Haaland’s camp to assure him that he’s their priority for the summer market.

The 21-year-old has flourished at Borussia Dortmund since joining the club from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.

The Norway international has scored 49 goals in as many games since the switch and is wanted by the best teams in Europe.

However, Barca have also requested Erling Haaland wait to make a decision over his next move.

The Catalans need time to sell their fringe players to raise funds to meet BVB’s asking price – which for the moment is a staggering €180m.
Barcelona believe it is “very, very likely” that Haaland will leave this summer because he has a buyout clause of just €75 million that comes into effect next year. Dortmund must therefore renew or sell to the highest bidder.

Manchester City and Real Madrid are both mentioned as possible destinations, although Los Blancos are believed to have made Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe their priority.

The report adds that Barca have already told Haaland that he’s their top choice to strengthen the attack and will sell “one or two starters” and offload some high earners to finance the deal.
