Arsenal are preparing to sell three senior midfielders in the coming weeks.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira are up for sale with the summer transfer window edging ever closer.

Torreira, signed by Arsenal from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018, showed initial promise at the Emirates. For a short while, it appeared as though the Gunners had acquired the combative midfielder they’d been dreaming of for years.

However, Torreira fast found himself on the precipice’s edge at the Emirates, losing his place in the side and eventually being shipped off on loan to Atletico Madrid, where he spent the 2020/21 campaign.
Though has struggled for playing time. It appears unlikely that Atletico Madrid will keep him around next season, with Torreira open in his desire to play in South America for a club like Boca Juniors.

Arsenal are now rumoured to be willing to let Guendouzi return back to France to ply his trade for Marseille in a deal that would see the Gunners earn around £8m.

Guendouzi has been on loan at Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin since September.

Meanwhile, Xhaka was arguably one of the Gunners better performers in what was an otherwise dismal season.

The Swiss midfielder is the subject of interest from Serie A outfit AS Roma, managed by Jose Mourinho, who is publicly a big fan of Xhaka.

Arsenal are in a hurry to have Xhaka’s future wrapped up and the same goes for right-back Hector Bellerin. But Roma hope to snap him up in a deal worth less than £15 million ($21m), which is far short of what the Premier League side hope to get for him.

Xhaka has also been linked with a move back to Borussia Monchengladbach, but said previously that he is “very happy” at Arsenal

Xhaka joined Arsenal from Gladbach in 2016. He made 45 appearances in all competitions in 2020-21 as the north London side finished eighth in the Premier League and reached the Europa League semi-finals.
