Arsenal are watching Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic’s situation ahead of the January market.

Jovic has only managed two goals from 27 games across all competitions in his first season with Los Blancos. A return to the Bundesliga on loan last season was an unsuccessful attempt by Madrid at recapturing his form, but he managed just four goals in 18 Bundesliga games.

Now, with just little under four years remaining on his contract, it appears he’s willing to move on.

AS says Jovic has agreed it would be best for him to depart the Bernabeu, opening the door for a move to Arsenal.

For Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, who will likely be on the hunt for a new centre-forward due to Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette both being out of contract at the end of the season, Jovic could be the perfect target.

Jovic is a striker who plays between the posts and stays central, and therefore won’t restrict Arsenal’s attacking prowess from the wings.

But the 23-year-old would also fit in with Arsenal’s long-term transfer strategy stemming from the summer window.

Arteta focused on signing young players with potential to develop at the Emirates, but still have an immediate impact in the first-team.
